  16. 512 KB to 640 KB Memory Region

  20. This Tech Tip concerns the 512 KB To 640 KB (80000h to 9FFFFh) memory region on these boards.  Normally this area is mapped as 640 KB base memory and is cached, and is therefore not available on the AT bus.

  22. Listed below are the ways this region can be made available on the AT bus for these series:

  24. Series 12, Voyager I:    The 512 KB to 640 KB region can be made available on the AT bus (Non-cached) through the BIOS setup.

  26. Series 21, Voyager II:   The 512 KB to 640 KB region can be made available on the AT bus (Non-cached) by changing PAL @ U113 from D00E2116 to D20E2116.

Series 24, Mark IV Screamer:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The 512 KB to 640 KB region can be made available on the AT bus (Non-cached) by changing PAL @ U87 from H00E2412 to H20E2412.

  30. These PALs are not part of the normal production for these series.  They are available as special request PALS and should be ordered through Sales or Technical Support.
